kmoore said:But, is a fuel pressure gauge necessary for a stock fuel setup? Also, where would you hook up a fuel pressure gauge on a stock fuel setup? Thanks

1:Boost Gauge
2:Exhaust Gas Temp. (EGT) Gauge
3:Oil Pressure Gauge
Quasimondo said:Fuel pressure gauges are used only on adjustable fuel pressure regulators, and only to adjust the regulator to what the stock fuel pressure is. After you have it set it's no longer necessary.
Gamble97 said:Stupid question. What's the point of an aftermarket temp and oil pressure gauge when the car has one stock? Aren't they suffecient enough to know if your car is overheating, or has no oil pressure?
EDIT: Sorry, my input to the thread, would be boost, wideband and whatever else.
Ok, now this makes perfect sense. Thank youprostreetdsmx1 said:the stock gauges aren't very accurate. When you get into real building you will realize that a couple of extra psi or a couple of extra degrees become very significant and being able to track it exactly is critical. For example you said "Aren't they suffecient enough to know if your car is overheating, or has no oil pressure?" you want to know this is happening before it happens. With the right gauges you can see gradual decreases in pressure or temps and that is vital.

. Just because the gauge sits in the middle you have no real idea as to what that means. Not to mention they just plain aren't very accurate. Take the factory coolent gauge, even though the needle always seems to sit in the middle, the actual temp can easily change 30 deg and still seem to be at the same place.prostreetdsmx1 said:these are your best bet to cover the basics. after those since you have a FWD you need a wheel hop gauge, a wheel spin gauge and an understeer gauge.

This is for "nightspeed87" and whoever else has an oil pressure gauge but, are these gauge mechanical as in oil lines running through the cabin? Or are they electrical? Also, where do you tap in for a oil pressure gauge?nightspeed87 said:i have a boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, and volts gauge because i have a lot of electrical stuff ran thru my car so i thought id be important, and under the dash in a conceal spot i have a " flashy" a/f gauge that im looking at until i get a safc. The datalogger includes rpm and coolant temp so thats why i didnt get a water temp gauge.
