which walbro...is it over kill???

hey guys im putting a 14b turbo on my car and im going to be running it at 15psi...people keep telling me to upgrade my fuel pump and i think i will have to cause its starting to go out.
well my questions are the following:

is the 190 walbro enough (with out having to rewire it)?

do i have to upgrade my injectors? (to like 550cc)

and if i do have to upgrade my injectors do i need an AFPR?

im still learning this A/F stuff so bare with me. thanx

Get the 550cc injectors, 190lph pump and rewire it to have a little fun with the 14B. If you are planning to with a bigger turbo down the road then you should get the 255lph and afpr so you don't have to go back in to the fuel tank.

For a 14b the 450cc injectors are more then enough at least to run no more ten stock boost or up to around 17psi.

You shoudnt run anymore on a stock fuel set up i woudnt waist money on a 190 dough just get a 255 with rewiring kit and a afpr and you are set even if u ever want to upgrade later on u at least have that.

I'm at 16lbs on a stock csm pump (which flows less than a stock dsm pump) with 450s. No problems at all. Get a 255+AFPR, then you'll be set til 500+hp.

The 2g fuel pump flows much better than 1g! You should be good if you rewire the stock to 17-18psi. You could get an evo one for cheap as well which are similar to 190lph. If you plan to run more than 18psi, i would definitely get at least some 550cc and at least a 190lph or evo pump which will not require a afpr.

Yes the evo pump is similar to the 190lph in pretty much in all ways but once rewire the 190lph still can out flow the evo pump any day

Yes im aware of the difference, we must have read the same page from RRE, but the fact of the matter is that all of these choices will be sufficient for his goal of 15psi on the 14b. I'd stick with the stock pump rewired for now and wait til you get a bigger turbo or want to run much more boost. My friend ran an FP Green on 16psi no problem with stock 1g pump

well i do want to get the 255 walbro and i was looking at a megan universal afpr but i dont know how to rewire it and dont have the cash to have someone do it for me. is there a write-up on how to rewire it?

but i know i must definitely get a new pump cause when i start the car in mornings you can hear its not working like it should.

by the way i found a used 255 (high pressure) pump for 40 on the CL listings is that pump too much?

Id definitely check the condition of the used 255. Just hook up a power and ground to it. I dont think at this moment your car needs a fuel pump unless you go over 17psi

unless you go to a 16g you have no need to upgrade your fuel pump to be honest.
-if you feel its necessary just be cautious of used ones
