I have totally given up hope on getting a machine shop to do any work right in the area I'm in so I am trying to buy what I need to cut valve seats and install valve guides myself.

For installing the valve guides I have turned down an air chisel bit to the guide diameter. Only other question I really have is if I need a reamer to run thru the bore of the guide after installing it and if so what size.

For cutting the valve seats I have been having trouble determining what Pilot to get. Valve stem diameters are listed as 6.6mm which would make their pilot that tapers 6.58-6.61mm correct. But I am measuring guide diameters and valve stem diameters of stuff I have and I am getting 6.53-6.55mm. I have measure with several different calipers and micrometers and have gotten the same results. So is my equipment wrong/I don't know how to measure or are the diameters listed wrong on valve stem diameter & guide diameters.
