Bad Valve seat

I took all of my valves out of my cylinder head after doing the water test on the exhaust and intake ports. I found this on an intake valve. Any machinist seen this before and know what could have caused this. It seems pushed back. It should be pretty flush on a 45 degree angle?

No, What you are looking at is common.

When they cast the head they pour the aluminum around the seat.

Some are flush, some are sunk, and the more rare above can happen.

Also the 45* is the middle angle, You should have a 30* above and a 60-80* below

Cause it continues to leak at the bottom after lapping them.

How warped is the head?

If the head has been badly over heated the valve seats can twist in the casting.

Having the seats cut will align the seat back to the guide.

Dont know the head was ported and polished. The guy I bought it off of said it was decked. Did have new valve seals. 13 out of 16 valves leaked water! Bottom side of head looked liked it was done.

That is ported? I thought it was wire brushed in the bowls. But ok, It could just be the pic.

Sounds like you need a valve job, grind the valves and cut the seat.

I wired brushed the valves seats to clean them up cause there was some carbon built up. The exhaust ports and intake ports were ported. Just a half ass machine job makes someone made. Which I bought the car as is, but the guy I got the car off of paid someone to do it and see what he got.
