which gen head do i have?

could some one help me by pointing me towards a faq or something that would help me identify which generation head i have? I searched all day and cant quite get the details im looking for. I've recently bought my first, 95 gsx with a 1st gen swap and i want to make sure which head i have so i can better trouble shoot my issues. any help would be much appreciated.

Well you answered your own question, you have a 1st gen head, ,unless you have a second gen head on a 1g block,although most swaps usually involve the whole engine, a pic of your engine would clarify this.

I would also bet you have a 1st gen head on there as well. It easier just to use the whole 6 bolt engine.

There is 2 heads though. Look on the side of the head it will say 2.0 or G6. The G6 head has a little bigger cooling passages. However you will need to make the holes a little bigger to slide them over the 6bolt arps. I have had both and did not notice a difference in either one other than make the holes bigger for the head bolts.

The second gen cyl. head has smaller intake ports.
