Which bumper should i go with?

More cool air is always good and there was even a dyno test about it with vented hoods in Import Tuner. I say that if you wanted to go extreme with it, leave the gap, add chambers to run the air to wherever you wanted it to go, and then gap the hood in the rear (Drift style) so that even more heat could escape. As for the mesh idea, I would personally paint them black if you go that route, so it's not noticible until you get up close to the car.

ya who knows i will ###### just leave the gaps and say screw the mess cause it is kind of ricey... i mean it does not look all bad. ill just have to see once i get the bumper on there to really determine if i like it.

I picked up a 98 talon bumper about two months ago. I finally just dropped it off to be painted this wednesday, can't wait to get it back and put it on.

to the mesh discussion.......mesh usually looks ricer cause its bent, cheap and on all crooked.....it can look quality, and clean(though i wouldnt personally recommend it).

as for the bumpers.....2GB Eclipse for front and back, hands down

Don't get me wrong I love Eclipse's too. I used to have one for 8 years ...I just hate to see a good 2g Talon being taken apart to be turned into an Eclipse
You could just sell it to a Talon lover and buy yourself an Eclipse! Around me TALON's are pretty Rare I never see any. I have YET to find one in a junkyard.

Well, I hate when people convert.
Because I'm stuck with an eclipse.
I WANT a 2g talon.
I'm too late now, already did a 6 bolt..

It is a lot cheaper to just swap a bumper instead of selling a Talon and buying an Eclipse. I had my Talon bumper for sale for 3 months before someone picked it up. It may be rare, and people may want it, but not everyone wants to pay for the bumper and shipping.

I also hate when people do the coversion. Buy an eclipse if u want one spend the money on something benificial. I knew a guy that went as far to change the steering wheel to a stock eclipse one just so everything would match.

I wouldn't have converted my front clip to the Eclipse 2Gb. I wanted to get the Talon 2Gb front clip but just couldn't find one and if I did they wanted crazy amounts of money for it. I don't like the 95-96 Eclipse/Talon headlights. I think they look too plain and mine were scuffed up. I bought a set of ebay projector halo headlights that were black. They fit horribly! I couldn't even get the passenger side one in. I traded them off for a similar set that were all chrome that fit perfectly. I found a 2Gb clip on dsmtrader for $99 and just went for it. I don't like the 2Ga smiley front clip at all but I love the 2Gb Talon front clip. The 2Gb Talon front clip has the biggest/ widest opening for a FMIC of any of the three front clips. If I find another 2Gb Talon front clip for a decent price, I'm going to snag it! And I think I'll just stick with the same headlights. The gap just doesn't bother me all that much. I think the 2Gb Talon front clip looks killer with the 2Ga Talon sideskirts. I never was a huge fan of the 2Gb Talon hi wing or the door thingys.

ya im going with the 99 eclipse black housing lights not projectors, just the plain black housing and its going to look sick with that talon 2gb front clip on it. Ya i wasnt a big fan of the 2gb wing or side either. Personal descision i guess but here is some pictures of the progress that i am making.

I forget who's car it's on but the one guy has the larger center eagle emblem on the 2Gb Talon front clip cut out and inlaid with mesh. It's done really cleanly with high quality mesh and looks killer!

ya i seen that one too and i did look really clean. but i just dont think that im going to use any mesh for mine. the gaps are fine by me so its all good.

nah im keeping it with the talon im not going to do the conversion on it so ya. and plus i already paid a ton of money for the 2gb talon bumper. just waiting on it to arrive so that i can put it on there. will look really nice i cant wait.

Yeah I think I've seen that too. I thought about filling in my Big Talon 2gb emblem up front and then flush mounting the 2ga smaller emblem in my 2gb Talon front clip!

Yeah I like that idea too. I just wanted the 2ga Emblem cause it's smaller and looks nicer. I like the out line too. Here is a pic of a car I saw at the shootout.

Wow that car is gorgeous. He painted his headlight housings black. Very clean look. The flairs might be a bit much, but it works.
