ya talons are rare where im from also i have the only one in the city LOL. so im going to keep it that way and not do the conversion.

i already have the headlights they are just not install but im doing the 97-99 talon front end on this beast. i think it looks more sexy... =) so that is what i have decided to do with it. will the 97-99 black housing eclipse headlights be a perfect fit for the 97-99 talon front bumper? Because those are the headlights that i was going to use with the talon bumper! what you think of the rims i bought?
:talon:

aight ill have to talk to my friend and see if we can come up with some of the 97-99 talon headlights. Ya i thought that i picked a nice set of rims but i wanted to get everyones opinion on them. They are super light and i got them at a really good deal so i was happy.

ewww that sucks... maybe i will just have to take them apart and sand them down and paint them black housing. that would look sexy i bet. :) i got this car at a pretty good deal to so im happy with everything that i have done to her. i plan on building the engine up this winter.

Yeah the Talon headlights are the same for ALL years of the 2g. 95-98
There was NO 99 Talon....1998 was the LAST year. To make it easier just order lights for a 1995-1996 Eclipse.

Here is a pic of a 2G Talon with 2GB Eclipse Headlights like you have. NOTICE the Gap on the inside of the lights.

ahhhh ya i see the gap.. man that is pretty big.. LOL guess i will have to use the talon headlights for this one. im not a big fan of that gap i like everything to be solid and clean looking. cant wait to get the rims and that front bumper installed. :)

thanks man i pretty sure that they will look pretty good. cant wait... =)

So I've put a good bit of thought into doing a conversion on my Talon and I decided not to. I looking at getting the 97 front bumper for it and a new paint job. I'm going with a black pearl top and a cobalt blue bottom. I've only seen 3 Talons in my area so I know they're a rarity.

Well good luck looking for that bumper. It's given me a hard time when tracking them down (believe me if I had the cash yesterday, I WOULD NOT have shown him that one). So happy searching, best bet is the junkyards and classifieds.

Just called certifit and they have it in stock. You are not going to believe the price. $ 47.75-minus the clips. I'm going look this thing on Monday. I really hope it's the right bumper and not some bullshit piece.

Certifit is going to give you the ECLIPSE 2gb or 2ga bumper...they DO NOT make the TALON 2gb bumper :(

Certifit lists the Eclipse and Talon as the same....althought the front ends are different.

Hey there everyone,
Well I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I was wondering about the gap with a Talon or 2GA bumper with 2GB lights. I was just wondering with the gap if that it has any effect on helping to cool the motor? I know it looks goofy with the gap, but maybe it could benefit somehow with drawing more air to the motor. Just wanted to see what everyone here thinks. Sorry if this seems like a newbie question.

ya i was thinking of making my own mesh inserts for it with some fiberglass around it to make it look nice and then paint the mesh black. i was also thinking well it would benifit the cooling of the engine and cool air to the intake. so ill ###### just go with the 97-99 black housing eclipse headlights but im have to wait for the bumper to get here. LOL it was an expensive piece but i think it was well worth it in the end considering talons are very rare.

Mesh is very ricer IMO:notgood: But to each their own. I'm not sure about the cooling question, never really thought about it that way. I'm sure it could help A LITTLE but nothing significant enough for it to change anything. Maybe a degree or two.

Mesh is only ricer when you use it excessivley haha, but put it over your fmic and youd have a nice sleeper! As for the gaps, clean fits always look better, but aloowing more air in for cooling off is never a bad idea, that would be your call. Make sure you post some pics up when you get everything together good luck!

Why not just paint your IC black if your trying to be sleeper, or use a supra sidemount? Because covering that entire center gap with mesh DEFINETLY wouldn't be excessive....IDK it was just my opinion. I am very curious about this cooling thing. Someone should try it and let us know, who knows, maybe you guys will make a believer out of me!
