which 16g on cyclone "motor"

Well basically im buying a 91 talon tsi AWD on monday and it has a jdm cyclone "motor" with the 16g and 510cc injectors. I was just wondering if the 16g that came with these motors was just the regular old 16g or not. I tried searching and didnt come up with anything this specific.
 
see thats what i was thinking, but its not an evo 1-3 motor i believe it came out of one of the few galant vr4's that had the 16g and 510's. not sure if that matters or not.
 
Mine came from a Galant VR4 with a "normal" big16g , not an evo3 16g, and 510 yellow injectors.
As far as I know all these JDM 6bolt cyclone engines came with this turbo.
 
alright cool, so im guessing that its running the jdm ecu, is there any problems with this??
 
ok, this thread really confused me. I did a JDM 6bolt swap with cyclone intake about 6 months ago and it came stock with a 13g and 450 injectors. The JDM ecu that came with it will NOT hook up to the stock wire harness and I did not have the time to change out the whole harness to make it work.
 
Your very lucky to have a jdm cyclone motor with a 16g and 510cc injectors. They are very hard to get nowadays, most jdm cyclone engines came with the 13b or 14b turbos and 450cc injectors. The Evo III turbo is only on the evo 7 bolt motors I believe, not on the galant vr-4's. I wish I was as lucky as you tho.:thumb:
 
That thread didnt really help much. I'm just wondering if the cyclone big 16G's are the same as all the other MHI B16G turbos.

A Big 16G is a Big 16G. Although, apparently there are many different turbos that will come on the "Cyclone" engines. Your best bet is to look at the part number on the compressor housing cover and post it on here. It will be 10-digits long, and begin with 49177 or 49178.

i have a jdm 4g63......it'll run jus fine off of the us ecu....everything.....everything has been rebuilt and it only has 1700 miles on it but it still runs good..no problem...ima check to see which turbo i have, im pretty sure its a 14b on 10psi
 
i have a mbc and i have installed it on my car with the side nipple to the wastegate and the vertical nipple tee'd off the bov.......i dnt have a nipple on my j pipe........i have a 90-93 jdm 4g63 in a 2g.......the car is set at 10psi...the problem is when i turn the boost up it goes until i fuel cut.....like 16-17psi......n thats like not even half turns...so i gradually turn it down after a run and the same thing........i have gotten lucky and had it at 13psi in first gear, then second goes to like 16psi, then 3rd goes to like 10-11psi at wot...........its highly confus'n.....if i decide to tap a nipple on the j-pipe im goin to switch my 14b to a 16g.....so not lookn for that answer....i want to exploit the 14b first....i dont know wus wrong with the boost controller or could it be sumthin else:confused:
