where to put gm syncromesh and where to get it?

alright i just installed the tranny. where do i put the tranny fluid, also I went to get this "gm syncromesh" and they tryed to give me AC delco syncromesh is this right? (it was at GM) also how many litres do i need?

these are stupid querstions but im a noob with these cars as you can tell and dont wanna mess shit up before i start her up

I always get mine from autozone, you should need about 3 quarts. The fill bolt is usually on the front of the tranny, (facing the radiator) but I think it might change locations depending on what year car you have. Get a funnel/hose to fill it, or better yet, a fluid transfer pump.

as you where asking how to fill the trany I would also add not to foget to fill the transfer cask with gear oil (not syncromesh) takes about .5 quart

the filler bolts for both are located on the frount most portion of each and may actualy bave fill printed on the bolts

Don't forget to fill the rear diff with gear oil too.

ahhh thanks guys for the info so im getting this right its called GM Syncromesh? why wouldent GM have it I live in canada so i dont have a autozone near by anyother places?

A common problem is not being able to get enough grip on the drain plug. You might need to grind down a 24mm socket. Also if you are having problems tracking down Gm syncromesh, then you can get penzoil syncromesh. You could also use a combination of Redline MTL (Manual Transmission Lube) and Redline Mt-90. Worked great in my tranny, until I finished off my hurting 2nd gear syncro doing a launch with 4 people in the car .

anything that says synchromesh is the same penzoil etc...

also use 1 quart of synchromesh and 2 quarts of regular trans fluid you will get much better results... or just run royal purple.

this is balls i just got 2 warnings for using the capitals on "gm" wtf?!?!
anyhoo im gonna try to get pennzoil from napa and see if they carry it

i have syncromesh in mine and i liked the redline (mixed) that i had in before. its to notchy now. before it was only notchy till it warmed up.
