2G where to mount fuel pump rewire relay?

I didnt know if there would be enough room under the cover of not. But thats where i will put it :thumb:

I have the stm rewire kit. Does the ground wire need to be cut on the fuel pump connector or is it just the power wire that needs cut and ran to the 2 different pins on the relay?

I know the chassis ground goes to one pin on the relay but wasn't sure if I had to cut the stock ground wire on the fuel pump connector?

I was referring back to the other post with the diagram and from what I can see from picture is the chassis ground in the middle the ground from the harness then the two power source wires the blue ones.

The relay will fit just fine under the access plate for the fuel pump. I have done four rewires this way. My oldest rewire is holding up just fine after 7 years. I would just use some good quality electrical tape to keep moisture out. If you want to keep it very discreet, I incorporated my rewire into the engine harness under the hood. You cannot even tell it is wired in. The fuse access is next to the main fuse box.You just run the power wire in the loom of the main engine harness and tape it back up.

Thanks guys! Got it all done and car started for the first time in a month! Made me feel great about the rewire I did myself (normally have my dad do my electronics as he has an electronic engineering degree).... cant wait to see how she runs now!!! I did 19 new things to it in the last month while its been apart so im sure it will be a whole new beast now :thumb:

Glad we all could be a help because this is what we are all here for to learn from each other. I feel just by helping and watching your progress on rewiring a fuel pump thread I feel confident and learned something new thanks and keep up the good work.

No problem bro glad I could help you out!! When you go to do the rewire I highly recommend the STM fuel pump rewire kit, takes about an hour to do it with that kit and comes with instructions. I found out that the only wires you mess with are the ones it tells you to in the instructions (basically just run your power wire from the engine bay, run your ground wire from the back seat and cutting the power wire to the connector and splicing in each end to a pin on the relay, along with splicing the ground and power wires you ran into their own pin on the relay as well)

sick society- if you want pictures of it all wired up with the STM kit pm me with your cell number and I will send them to you, it will make your life so much easier when it comes time to do the rewire
