Rewired the pump today...did what the VFAQ said. Now, the only question I had was in regard to the posts on the relay.

According to the VFAQ and Plymouthlaser.com, you connect the battery to terminal 30, ground to 85, pump itself to 87 and car to 86.

Now, the only thing I see as a potentional problem is that on the back of the package the relay came in, there is a diagram showingg which terminal is what...it lists the following:

30 - 12v Out
85 - Ground
87 - 12v In
86 - On / Off Switch

So everything would be correct in how I wired it EXCEPT that terminals 30 and 87 seem like they would be switched around....according to the VFAQ, the battery goes to terminal 30 which would be 12v IN...but the diagram says this is 12v OUT.

Can someone clarify this for?

It will work fine either way but most people wire terminal 30 to battery positive (12v in) since that is the "common" terminal. This is because if you ever needed to use terminal 87a (normally closed terminal), battery positive then has to be on terminal 30.

Since 87a is never used, I am using SPST, which can be substituted in cases of 87a never being used of a SPDT relay. The only thing is, the diagrams on VFAQ and here are different than what its saying on the back of this package.

I guess time will only tell. As soon as the battery is wired up, I will have to use the fuel pump check. I need to use it anyways to set fuel pressure.
