I had a Megan Racing short throw shifter 4 years ago and was disappointed with the slight play i had in it causing inconsistent shifts. I want to go the B&M route this time but seems you cant get it anywhere anymore. The two that had them "in stock" on their site called me back the same day saying they dont and its a website error.
I then stumbled across the Dog Box racing short throw shifter but realized their site no longer exists. Am i simply stuck with the Megan Racing shifter at this point and just hope that a b&M pops up in the classifieds?

I just got my Megan short shifter in and I know what you are talking about when it comes to stick play. However, you don't have to live with it. With a little engineering you can fix that.

What I did to mine is I first sort out a correct thickness shim to fill the gap between the purple adapter and where it is sitting. The metal shim will fill in the gap to prevent it form moving it ever so slightly.

I just cut an old metal intercooler clams up and that happen to be the correct thickness(shim) and that pretty much solves the problem with play. Now it's tight as it can be with no movement. But be sure to use JB weld on the shim and glue it on to the adapter side to keep it from coming loose after you install it.

I'm fixing to do a write up with pictures in tech section for reference.

It works just like the B&M now. It's an easy fix, but a lot of people complain about it. Short throw for 30 bucks you can't beat it.

Damn i just dont want to have to do that, did you follow a guide of some sort?

Im glad I still have my B&M shifter. I didn't know they were discontinued. My friend doesn't like them and suggests agaisnt them because he says they are hard on syncros but I love it. I wont be going back to stock anytime soon.

No I just thought of it. It's an easy fix. You just put a metal shim underneath that purple adapter. Problem solve. You can even do it while it's install. Put JB weld on the adapter side and tap it in between the adapter and shifter housing.

Short shifter will not kill a syncro bro. Driving like a race car and dumping and shifting like John Force will LOL

Short shifter does not effect the throw near the tyranny linkage, it just reduce the throw at the column in the cockpit. It's more of your driving style that kill syncros.
