Where is the Starter??

Its in the back of the engine. You'll have to put it on jack stands and get under it.

Its not that hard to change, there's only two bolts holding it on, but its a pain to pull it out. Some pull it out from underneath, I pulled it out from up top behind the intake manifold but its a very tight fit.

If you get enough parts out of the way, removing it from the top, without the car even being jacked up is fairly simple.

1. Remove your upper intercooler piping
2. Remove your battery
3. Remove the battery tray
4. From the passengers side you should be able to see the two bolts about 4 inches apart that hold the starter in. You can even feel behind the motor, on the top of the tranny, so that you know where it is.
4. Remove the power/ground wiring for the starter
5. Take out the bolts for the starter (2)
6. Now you should be able to wiggle the starter out

Your coolant pipe and some of the coolant hoses might be in the way a little bit. Also watch out for the wire attached to your knock sensor and your speedo cable. Just be careful when you take it out and good luck :thumb:
