Ancaster,
can any tell me where the knocksensor is located, with a pic at least thnnxxxx, bcuz my car is givin me lag of power and i was told i have to change that. thnx ### sum1 tell me where the sesor is located.

i don't have a picture for you but it's in the back of the block right under the intake manifold in right around in between cylinders #1 and cylinder #2. you should be able to maybe slide your hand back there and check it to see if it's good. kinda tough, might get a few scratches trying to get to it but it's better then pulling off the intake manifold only to find out that your knock sensor is good hehe.

Who told you your knock sensor was bad? Did it throw a CEL or did someone just say that may be the problem?

well this is whats happenin, is my boost is going up but no power, until it kicks my boost, eventually my car will kind of go back n forth while flooring it. i searched before i told my problem, and the knocksensor fixed sum1's problem. i really think i got an exhaust leak, iim a check that outt. and also, my check ENGINE light goes on and off., and also i need a new altenator other than that the car was running fine untill the boost gauge goes up but no power? n again it kind of chokes making it go like back n forth , the only leak i could have is the exhaust leak all lines were repaired. let me know guys thnx

you do a boost leak test?

no how do i do it?> i doubt i have a boost leak, bcuz if i did. i wouldnt be able to hear my 02 housing go off meaning there is enuff boost thats openin my wastegate, theres just no pOwer.. sometimes i get the power. sometimes i dont, it fiils up with boost No power, it kiks my boost. and check engine light goes on and off.

It probably is the knock sensor. Do you have a logger or anything?

nono i dont, i thought it would be the knocksensor. how do i check it the knock sensor is good or not???

can it also be if there is a exhaust leak also????

Actually, now that I looked at your mod list in your profile it is probably more related to you running a 20G with no supporting mods LOL. It is always good to replace the knock sensor anyways though. Most have never been changed unless you actually got your car from someone who knew what they had.

You have to take the intake off to replace it? UGH not looking foward to that this winter.

Just look at it. If the sealant/goo in the top of it is leaking out or missing altogether, it's bad.

What? You don't have to take off the intake to replace the knock sensor. WTF Stick you hand back there, unplug it, then pop it loose with a 17 or 18mm wrench (can't remember) and unscrew it by hand.
