so I'm 95% done with my install of my motor and well looking around and making sure everything was installed and ran into this wire/plug that I have no clue what it is or where it goes. I've been searching and have gone threw both my haynes and chilton and online manuel and I can't figure this out. The wire is on the same part of the wiring harness that goes to the temp sensor and the front o2 sensor, it's pretty long I thought it went to the tranny but didn't see any place to stick it. thanks to who ever can figure this out for me.

It looks like a broken speed sensor off the back of the tranny. It's on the passenger side towards the back, further back than the starter I believe. Looks likes someone tried to epoxy it back together.

You'll have to get the broken portion out of your trans and get a new one and bolt it down.

yeah that was the plan to do get whatever it is replaced, trust me the guy who had the car loved him some jb weld and epoxy. thanks I'm going check right now.

That sensor is kinda hard to get to with out a bunch of stuff removed like the throttle body elbow/battery/other stuff that's in the back passenger corner.

I'd put money down that's it.... I just hope you can get the rest of it out of there without dropping the tranny and having a bunch of plastic in there.

good luck dude!

Definitely your speed sensor. Broke mine when I did my clutch. Lesson learned I think just for the outer shell it was like sixty dollars! You have to remove the rest out of the tranny and take the clip off the bottom part and slide the gear and shaft in to the new housing. :thumb:

hahaha yeah I noticed the kink to, I'm already in the works to get that fixed, it was the speed sensor found, yeah it's broken found the rest of it in the tranny planning on waking up tomorrow and digging it all out. thanks to all.

carefull and dont drop that bolt that holds the sensor down to the tranny. I learned the hard way after a clutch LOL. I thought i was in the process of dieing. You should be able to hook it up with everything hooked up. I did get the bolt of with a magnet thank the lord.
