When to have a head resurfaced?

And it seems that the best condition for a MLS gasket is to have the head resurfaced to a mirror finish.

my question is with a felpro composite head, is it necessary to resurface head

With a mls you have to have it resurfaced but with a composite you don't have to but it won't hurt to. I didn't when I installed mine. The composite will do.

It depends on the surface condition, and warp in the head.

The finish doesnt have to be as smooth for a composite gasket.

But with either gasket the main thing is the head is flat.

You can check the head limits and measurements yourself, just need a set of deeper gauges and a straight ruler. I think the service limit for the 7 bolts were like .0002 and up is out of service and needs to be shaved.
