As mentioned in the topic, when do I have to shim the pivo ball. I know I have to when i resurface my flywheel, but what symptoms would it cause if I forgot to do it?

I am asking this because my car stalls during shifts that take longer and when I have to stop the car fast. I am sure that the problem is caused by the clutch or the clutch assembly. Seems like the clutch won't disengage properly. The car was fine with the stock clutch. Then the problem began with the Act2100 only when i drove to a stop light with high speed and now with the Act2600 and a new Fidanza flywheel the car is nearly undriveable.

Does anybody have an idea?

there is a video series on how and when you should shim it on youtube. Just do a search for Jafromobile's video series and i think its in part 2 of his transmission build/repair he explains it, and what to shim it with.

First have you adjusted the clutch pedal assembly? When i installed my act i had a similar problem, never had to shim it just need to adjust the clutch pedal, what do you know problem solved.

If the clutch fork sits towards the passenger half of the boot opening then it needs shimmed. The fork should sit at the driver half of the opening.

Jacks videos have a lot of great information and there are picture of how the for should sit.

I would do a Google search for it and they should pop up.

First of all thank you for the help so far.

Should I feel it during the shifts that the pivot ball is off?
Because shifting is as smooth as always. There is just the problem that the car dies on stops.
