OK, Sorry that this is kinda off topic, but i have a question, its REALLY REALLY weird that i see this post today cause when i took my car for my morning drive today, i noticed a ticking noise, i hear it when i'm not moving too so its not something like suspension parts or anything, but ya i JUST NOTICED IT TODAY. Now that u guys are talking about thos lifter tick, maybe that could be it i dunno can u describe this tick to me? u cant really describe a tick LOL but i mean like can u give me a suggestion on how i could figure out what is making the tick, like if its the lifter if i pop the hood and put my head really close to the valve cover will it be a lot louder?

Mine usually does it at idle when you first start the car or stop at a light and it literally goes *tick tick tick tick*. When I first start the car, hear the tick, then rev, the ticks get faster. Usually lifters get worn over time or when the car is ran with low oil. Mitsubishi (aka Satan) does sell redesigned lifters (we need 16 of them) to eliminate the ticking. IMHO it doesn't bother me TOO much since I know what the noise is so I don't plan on spending $136 anytime soon. As for Lucas I was told NEVER to use that stuff, if you go into a PepBoys or Autozone and see that display with the white gears that you spin...If you notice when you turn it super fast (yes I have no life) bubbles form on the bottom. For people who own turbo engines we all now bubbles in our motor oil is bad....very bad. I am happy with synthetic and will stick to that IMO.
