Ok guys .. im on the process of ordering mods mostly for my engine bay and now i need to jump on the suspension modding .. here is what im looking for

18's something the doesnt weigh much ( VOlks , Rota , 5 Zigen maybe )
Either Coilovers or springs and shocks later on ..
sway and strut bars ..

i will be changing the color of my GSX soon to either white or Blue ..

let me know what u guys have in mind and what a helping hand u can offer .. and yes i searched the forums for suspension but i couldnt make up my mind of what to get so here iam asking for ## help

Joe

The suspension part all depends on what you want to do. And as for the rims we are in the same boat. If you want to get into autocross I would suggest a good set of coilovers. If your just going to be driving around get a set of struts and lowering springs.

i just want the best setup .. no auto -x for me :/
just a weekend drivier thats all , but the thing is our streets are mostly messed up and i cant just have springs with a certain drop limitation , what if i need to raise it up a little , i hope u got my point :)
i heard Teins ss were good and maybe some rays , rotas are goof too .. and zigens are just good on a budget ..
18x8's maybe ...

Well if you want something that you can adjust the height of your car coilovers are the way to go. My friends got the tein basic coilovers and loves them, very good suspension for the price. As for rims I guess it all depends on how much your looking to spend.

tien will be it .. but there are different kits .. basic , ss and flex if im not mistaken.
Wheels i want light wheels with a decent lip if there is any .. i always wanted mesh but lately TE37 are a hit .. 18's is a must :) 18x8's to be precise

Here's some technical info on the Tein coilovers:
MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE

It basically comes down to how much you want to spend and how stiff of springs you want. The Flex system have a bit stiffer front springs than the other two. I believe there is also some adjustability differences between the kits. I have the Flex system (coupled with EDFC) and love them!

And here's a good website for wheel sizes and corresponding weights:

snowborder u made my day ... how are those treating u .. ?
budget wise sky is the limit brother , it seems like the Te37's but i dont know which Tein ..!! but will it clear 18x8's?

Tein aren't great coilovers. I don't care what the fanboys will tell you, but these, like other Japanese shocks show their true weakness on the dyno plots.

I urge you to invest in a higher quality shock and coilover spring combo such as Koni Yellows (sports) and Ground Control coilover springs. This setup provides a relatively affordable solution with consistent performance and adjustable ride height.

Popularity doesn't equal greatness. But bling is more appealing for some and the Teins are perfect to augment their "baller" status.

But don't get me wrong, Teins aren't terrible or anything, certainly an upgrade over stock. It's just that for the money, much better setups, and thus performance, can be had for the same or less.

As for wheels? You're on your own!

They've been treating me just fine. Haven't had a problem yet. Will put them to the real test this summer by doing some autox. I'm running 18x7.5 rims on the Teins (set at company recommended settings for height) and have no problems. I'm going to be putting on some 225/40 tires (running 225/35 now) soon but was still told I shouldn't have any issues.

But I do agree with the above post. You're kind of contradicting yourself as you say money is no option and you want the best, yet you're not going to race your car. Why spend all this money on a great suspension setup if you're going to weekend drive it? I'd say look into the Konis/GC setup as there are some autox guys (ludachris, for ex.) that are running them. So you know they're able to handle a good bit. But probably not as pricey as a full coilover setup.

Another thing you'll have to consider is how rough of a ride you want. The Teins on their stiffest setting was pretty darn stiff when I first got them. So stiff that I hardly ever rode around in that setting. But, I've gotten used to them since then. I still ride around on the softest setting a good bit since the roads around here suck (especially the highways).

But, if you want the best that money can buy, look into Meullerized JIC's, Zeal, Hotbits, and KW coilovers. You're going to need to know a good bit about what you want (spring rates, adjustability, ride height, etc.) to get something of that caliber though.

snowborder714 and PieEyedPiper i hear what u are saying , i heard and read good things about Tein and bad things too , and i was told to go with Ksport instead .. i used to run KYB AGX and GC coilovers on my N/T but this car is different , even though i wont be racing MUCH .. i yet still need something better than that setup , i'm going to look into other brands and hope for the best ..

The wheels will be ordered soon but i realized something .. and i hope someone can clearify this ..

why does this one look diff than the other .. same model but why ..
