I was wondering if anyone knew if I could fit 18x9.5 +35 all the way around my 2g eclipse?? I was going for an aggressive offset to set off the look of the car.

Any info would be great!!! THanks!!:hellyeah:

Have you used any of the available tire size calculators in your quest?

Damn man.. Why do you want to go that big? Theres a thread on 18" wheels on here if you used the search function.

On Talk, there was a gentlemen that posted pics of his 2g with 18x9.5 +35 w/ 255/35/18. Looked great, but he didn't mention any rubbing or clearance issues.

Im undecided between 17's or 18's...... I dunno..... the wheels wells are pretty big..... Suspension will be worked H&R Full Race springs.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want to go with the "hellaflush" look..... and I'm not very good with wheels offsets and such..... Stuff confused the crap out of me! LOL

Was also thinking of using 15mm spacers in the rear to clear that arm

I knew that word would come up...

Fix the avatar and use the wheel calculators.

If I were to go with 18's, the tires I was thinking of using would be some 225/40/18......

I used the wheels fitment calculator and it came up with me having 6.89 " check spacing", so there maybe some slight possible rubbing....

Anyone have any experience with wheel spacers??

They space your wheels out. You'll need longer wheel studs. What else do you really need to know?

Aggressive =/= "hellflush"

And aggressive stance on a DSM usually consists of stuffing as much rubber as you can in the wheel well. 245's or 255's will do that. Rumor has it that 265's can also be used if you have the right suspension and know how to pull and roll fenders.

And it doesn't take a 18"x9.5" wheel to pull off the look. It's a waste if you're running 225's. 235's on an 8" wide rim and the sidewalls are almost straight.

Are you going for looks or performance? 18"x9.5" rims will be heavy, especially if you go cheap.

Or you could get the correct offset and not have to worry about spacers.

I'd go with 17's - anything bigger starts looking just weird on DSM's

Does anyone have a link to where I could figure out what off set i could use to get a good lip size for the rear wheels? Thanks

You can do the 9.5" but you'd need 20mm spacers and extended studs all the way around

wrong. you can fit 9.5s on a 2g i know a car that has. I do like your choice in rims not some dumb wheels from sears

everyone I've talking to said spacers would be needed so you don't rub... But ok, thanks for the correction.

OP, I have 19x9" with no spacers. My wheels are flush with the fender just the same as that white car bNasty posted and I have a lot of space in between the top of my tires to the upper control arm. I know damn well I could throw on a 9.5" wide wheel with 19's and be good. So I'm sure you'll be fine with 18x9.5 with the right offset, not camber, since your wheel will be exactly 1" smaller than mine and I have that much space to work with.

Picture doesn't do justice, there was more room than this, picture was just at the wrong angle to show how much room. But you can atleast see a .5" wider wheel will fit and then take your wheels down to 18's and it shows how much room you really do have.

Go for it, I'm running 18x9.5 +22 right now on 225/40's and i'm not rubbing at all! I did need to roll the fenders and a slight pull, But thats inevitable if your trying to pull off any Well stanced car. Good luck.

I am sitting on 17x7 with 245/45/r17 and they are nowhere near aggressive. My next set of wheels are going to be 18x8 and get as much tire in there is as possible with no more than -1.5 camber. At the moment I am sitting on stock ride height but I can't afford more than a 1" drop with my roads.

I'm thinking of getting the xxr 522 with a +25 offset. And those wheels are 18" by 9.5. Will this offset work or will it rub?

XXR Wheels: 522 18x9.5 Gold Rims

I wouldn't run an offset that low. Stock is +46. Anything below +30 is going to put enough additional stress on your wheel bearings that it could eventually cause premature failure.

If you get the spacers you should be fine. 25+15mm = 40 which should be no problem.

Rim width doesn't matter as much as tread width...with +30 offset...225 wheels was really dumb. My friend has +48 offset on his car with 225s, so clearly you could have gone with a wider tire.
