i have a 95 talon ESI... will 18 x8.5 rims go outside my fender once they are with the tires..? looking for 235 or 240 not sure about the offset possibly 40?

will having rims 18 inch wheels slow down my transmission, they are Zigen rims.. looking into buying JDM rims as they are lighter..

once again my car is not AWD have a non turbo would it be a bad idea going 18" with a N/T

It is noticeable actually, at least to me. So on my N/T i went from an 18x8 with a 25 offset to a 17x7.5 with a 30 offset once I lowered it. And there was even a slight difference when I went from a 215/45r17 to a 215/50r17, but it was less of a bumpy ride, more of a tire sidewall to provide a cushion. I wouldn't personally go any bigger than a 17". And with that you can go as wide as 9" with a 35 offset. and 235/40 or 235/45r17's should ride ok

Actually I know there is a chart somewhere that outlines what will, will not, or what is splitting hairs in the way of clearance. I cant find it but i know its somewhere.

the bigger the rim the bigger the tire the bigger the tire means more time it takes to make one revolution which equals = less speed

i went with 18's, my cars a gs, wasnt really going for the speed aspect of it.. haha ;D

i have very similar wheels to the guys car above they are 235/40/r18s and they look great, they stick about 1" out from the fender and give it a nice wide look.

only problem is the crazy horrible new england roads are terrible this time of year, and the ride with them is horrible!

If your 235's aren't tucked, you have the wrong offset. You can get 235's to fit inside the fenders. Even 245's will fit, but you may have to roll the fenders.
