Curious as to opinions on the best wheel hub assemblies for 1g available at this point. Looking for best quality options here, not most economical. Thanks.

Wheel hub assembly? On a 1G there is a hub, two wheel bearings, two seals, a c-clip and the knuckle. Unless you have ABS, in which case there is also the tone wheel.

Are you looking to replace the bearings?

Replacing everything new that I can. Was just wondering what brands people liked with these parts as I was looking at them recently to add to stock pile of parts for build.

What about hubs? Timken? Pretty sure OEM is NLA?

I agree OEM is preferred in this situation but from what I understand from my research 1g hubs are discontinued. I see many wheel hub AND bearing assemblies available; Moog, Mevotech, Timken, Beck/Arnley, AutoExtra, Dorman, etc. I would love if someone had first hand experience with any of these and could offer opinions. Also trying to ascertain if I buy all the OEM bearing parts (from JNZ), will they work with all of these aftermarket hubs, or are some better than others? Or should I just buy the aftermarket ones with the bearings/+hubs already assembled? I like the idea of a pre-pressed assembly and it's much more cost effective this way, just wish it was available OEM.

Because of the way the front are put together there are no pre-assembled or pre-pressed units.

Any aftermarket hubs have to fit the OEM bearing diameters and depth since the preload of the bearing is caused by the inner bearing races being compressed between outer CV joint with the axle stub and the hub. But this is speculation on my part, for while I've taken this all apart a couple of times, I've only used the original hubs and factory bearings and oil seals.

Maybe someone here has tried one of the aftermarket hubs and can comment on their quality.

i am also looking for both the hub and bearing assembly.. any know reliable sites where can find the hub?

There is no bearing assembly. As mentioned, there is a bearing, the hub, the knuckle, the seals, and the c-clip. You can find everything but the hub and knuckles fairly easily. Hub and knuckles are going go be used only. I could be misremembering research on another one of my cars, but new hubs are non-existent.
