What's your BEST/Worst mod???

BEST: TRE transmission, RM sway bars, 16g, dsmlink

WORST: Parts store overflow tank, TurboXS HP mbc, 16g install kit, boost gauge that only went to 20psi
 
Best Maintenance: New throttle body seals - made the car run 100x better.
Best Mod: Non-rice 3" Turbo-back exhaust :thumb:

Worst: Ebay Type-S bov (now fixed) :)
New Worst: Spray painted front bumper after fiberglassing damage from hitting a fawn. Paint is the wrong color :(

worst: the whole cut by the previous owner of my shell to route retarded fleabay ic piping through
 
Best: Buying a sweet, mint, untouched Tsi :hellyeah:
Worst: Not noticing the wastegate vac line was not connected...and going for a spin in my new ride :ohdamn:

Both correct and incorrect.

It's not worthless by any means, you can use it as a good way to measure how lean or rich you are running. If you already have a wideband though, there isn't much point in both I would think.

It's never a bad thing to have imo. :thumb:

And good thread, I was looking at some of the things in the "worst" parts and I now know to steer clear! (Looking at you greddy BoV:hmm:)
 
My car is on jack stands right now and i'm installing all the parts I bought but if I had to go from what the previouse owner did i would say

Best: hrc super16g, and sportcomp boost, and egt.
Worst: Putting redline mtl in a trans with 160k, shep to the rescue...
 
Best = Haltech E6X EMS

Worst = Apexi and Greedy BOV's / fleabay coilovers (hard to decide on which one has caused me more grief LOL )

i understand...it was when i was doing my 1st mods...the 14b, exhuast, and running 15psi, jus141, who i got my amazing unbreakable turbo from, told me i should invest in one while i was at it...
 
Best: Innovate LMA-3 logger with the wideband.
Worse: Probably the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, since it made me think I could 'tune' the motor with fuel pressure. Later on, burning chips and using other emulators made the regulator look like a waste of money, since we'd just add fuel in the tune.
 
I'm hoping that should be the other way around. I can't see what BC cams are doing for an otherwise stock GST.


You should hear the 1G BOV with the Dodge Garage Mod done....it doesn't even sound the same at all. You'll see a little flutter if you blow off at 10-15psi, but it sounds amazing at 25psi+! They're such a well-built piece- I can't imagine ever using another valve...except maybe a Tial once the 1G BOV can't drop the air volume quick enough for a huge turbo.

Whats wrong with the greddy rs bov? I havent had any trouble with mine yet, although i may not be runnin enough boost to.

You still need a wb02 with link right? Have a safc 2 (for sale) and have been looking for loggers n wd02 but a guy I know just won me over to get link so I know I wont need the logger but what about the wb02?
 
Best - Getting the evo3 16g
Worst - Getting gm maf-t ( It's working good, but it could have waited to get me an external wastegate which i mostly need at this moment )
