no haven't checked the cables yet but would 1 3 and 5 not work if it was a cable problem?. But im thinking something might have broke because the guy before me did that short throw shifter mod and I put bearing for the bushings.

If it's not going into 1,3,5 the shift cable (not the other one called select cable) isn't being pulled back enough. If it's not going into 2,4,R the shift cable isn't being pushed forward enough. This can be the shifter's fault (incorrect installation, adjustment, or one that just doesn't provide enough throw). But it usually is due to the cable isn't being held in place rigidly enough (eg. the cable throw is just being used to move the cable laterally rather than forward/back - usually bad cable mount or cable itself). Of course if it doesn't shift in any of the gears the cable is probably broke. Not shifting into 2,4,R or into 1,3,R can also be a partially broke shift cable (inner cable is ok but casing is broken off the mounting bracket).
It won't be a shift fork. If it used to work ok I'd look at the cable mount (most likely) or cable itself (less likely) or shifter adjustment if it has any (cables however don't adjust on a 2g). It could be an engine mount but then it would be related to when the engine moves forward/back on deceleration/accereration.
