What's this little plug?

Unfortunately, I don't know what to search because I have no idea what it is. It is clicking and vibrating and my car will NOT start. I also have a check engine light lit. The plug in question is the electrical connections in the picture.

Ok, thanks snowborder. Now that I know that its a fuel pressure regulator, I need to know whether this by itself will keep the car from running. I also noticed that my ECU (box under the radio) is clicking which really worries me.

Yes. the clicking and vibrating go away but the check engine light stays and the car will not run.

if i were you, i would just run the vacuum line right from the fpr to the intake manifold...
i can't really tell you exactly what you should do since i don't even have the stock fpr anymore

Pull off the plug. Clean the corrosion off of the connection. Try again.

If not.

Go to a junkyard, get another FPS.

If your ECU is clicking repeately while in the start/on position your ECU is fried most likely. Pull it out open it up and check it out.

No it sounds like something electrical clicking and yes its when the key is on the ON position. I just pulled the ecu and it looks like 2 of the capacitors are leaking. I assume its time for a new one. Where can I get one for a reasonable price? I can't find a 1g turbo dsm in any Tucson junkyard.

you can get an ECU on ebay or in the classifieds on here. you should be able to find one at e pretty reasonable price.

Steve also is an ECU god he has a few non-eprom 1g ECU's for sale. Here is his website. DSM (Talon Eclipse Laser) and 3S (3000GT and Stealth) ECU Service and Repair Also Craigslist is a good spot to find an ECU from, open them up first though in the presence of the person your buying from to make sure it's not fried at that time. If it's good and you have time you can see about having it refurbished, or just run it till you can afford a rebuilt one.
