[PIC] What's this plug near brake light switch and where does it plug in?

Trying to fix my always on brake lights and noticed this wasn't plugged in.... what is it? White plastic plug in the photo (warning: rust)

Looks like clutch switch connector. Can you start the car without pressing the clutch? If so, that’s why. Plug it back in and you’ll need to press the clutch in when starting.

Yep! That seems to be it! Is it alright to leave it unplugged? I actually saw mention of that on the upgrade path thread

Yes. No need to plug it. Just make sure it’s not in gear when you start it or it may be a bad day
