Im just wondering what the difference between a stock engine...a 6 bolt or a 7 bolt...what is the "bolt" for...can someone explain to me what all this bolt stuff is about please? I'm into DSM's and just trying to learn more :) Thanks!

6bolt, 7bolt, that's how many bolts that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft. 6bolts are more durable compared to 7bolts. 7bolts are prone to crankwalk while 6bolts aren't. www.vfaq.com is a good site.
 
7 bolts are more prone to crankwalk but I've seen 6bolts do it too. It's still not really known for sure why our motors do this. You can also tell the difference between the two by looking at the oil pan, and by the year of the car. I believe the 7bolts began showing up in the 93 and up cars.
