whats the difference between 1g 6bolt & 7bolt tensioners?

im pretty sure that the difference is the 6 bolt are both bolt holes on the right side and the 7 bolt ones are 1 on each side am i correct??

and if so can u use a 7 bolt tensioner on a 6 bolt motor if u have the balance shaft removed?

No, you can't interchange any of them.

So a 1g 7bolt N/T tensioner won't work for a 2g 7bolt turbo block? Like it wont be the right amount of tension?

It just won't mount up and mate with the tensioner arm properly.

So it will need to be specific. 7bolt turbo tensioner for a 7bolt turbo? Just making sure I have it right, doing my first timing belt and had a new n/t tensioner for a different car, just thought i'd try and save a few bucks, but it's not worth another rebuild =P
