I think you meant "where you could retard the spark timing" (decrease the the amount of timing advance).

A common number used for AWD DT losses is 20%. How accurate that is, I couldn't tell ya...but I know my car has some pretty high DT loss. For a 20% DT loss and a 350awhp target, it would require 437.5 HP at the crank to get there. Granted, I have no idea what DT the OP's friend is planning on running.
Using a less conservative 10% for DT loss would require 388hp at the crank. Even that number is hard to achieve without some serious cooling of the fuel charge with a small turbo pushing 20psi or more with CR = 10:1. With 8:1 pistons + FMIC + WAI... it's still a battle to get 350awhp with any small turbo on the frog piss we have around here.
