So heres the deal. I am driving to work the other day and my alternator light comes on(alternator is fairly new). So im thinking that it is bad. Well i go home and check the voltage when the car is running and it is perfectly where it is supposed to be. So my question is why is my light on. It has been about two weeks and still running perfectly just with the light on.

Reset the ECU and see if you can get the light to go off. For some reason the car is seeing a voltage drop which causes that light to pop on. I had this happen on my 3G and reseting the ECU fixed the problem.

If the light comes back on, let us know.

By resetting the ECU do you mean to go to the auto store and have them reset it with the computer or just unplug my battery and then put it back in.

Which ever is more convenient.

Make sure you have the radio security code, if you're running a stock one.

Definately do that. Had that problem with my 3G as well but the dealership was able to pull my security code for me from the serial number off of the radio.

Let us know what you find out.
