What is wrong with my clutch?

I have a South Bend Clutch dxd series 5k miles old with a stock resurfaced 6bolt flywheel and it doesn't seem to be slipping but the clutch pedal is extremely light. I think the pressure to push the clutch in is less than a stock clutch. I know it is supposed to be like stock pedal pressure but this is really low. Also when i was on the highway I held my clutch in while it was still in gear and reved it pretty high(I was in a tunnel...I love the sound!) and the car moved forward!!! WTF

Check your master and slave cylinders and make sure they aren't leaking. Something isn't releasing your clutch fully. It doesn't sound like its to the point where its grinding gears, but just enough that you can feel it. If no leaks, try bleeding your clutch there could be air in your line.

Wow you have the same problems as i do! When i rev up to near 7k the car will lung forward a bit. Kinda like there is very close tollerances in the trans/clutch. I also have the South Bend DXD clutch, awsome clutch that grabs like mad!

Curious as to what will casue this, ive bleed the system a few times already. My trans does not grind any gears. The clutch fork dont need to be shimmed(clutch ball).

Adjust the pedal after checking for leaks and bleeding it. That should fix any problems I would think.

Yeah i have adjusted the pedal a few times, still does it. I think my master might be the culprit, it leaks a tiny bit. I mean a tiny bit too. I dont really know. Time will tell i guess.

Bringing this back from the dead, I was wondering how this turned out for you guys.

Today I'm finishing up my SBR LSD insert, new OEM TOB, clutch fork and pivot ball, Fidanza flywheel, FP flywheel bolts, Southbend OFE HD clutch, and SS braided clutch line install (with the restrictor removed). At the moment all that needs to be done is install suspensino and wheel stuff.

But I've noticed that the pedal pressure is lighter than stock! That kinda worries me. I haven't started the car yet so I'm not sure if things are OK or not. There SEEMS to be less resistance when going into gears when the clutch is in, so that's a good sign. I have fully bled the clutch.

I'm just looking for input from you guys. Thanks!

Did you bleed both the Master and the Slave? I found it's easiest to bleed the Master and then bleed the Slave.

Also, if you see any signs of leaking from either the Master or the Slave they need to be replaced. You can check the master by looking under the dash, which is the most common place for it to leak. The slave can be checked by pulling back to boot covering the piston.

Actually I just bled the slave because there was NO fluid in it really. I just poured about a pint through the clutch til it was clear and without bubbles. No leaking at all.

I did get the car going, though... and, WOOOOOOWWWW!!!!

The LSD is great in the corners now. The car is FAR easier to shift. It revs much much better.

As for the clutch though... I dunno. It's REALLY wierd. I mean the pedal is feather light. It engages and disengages quickly, and I really can't "feel" the clutch engaging like I could on the stock one. It grabs, though; and holds! Break in time though so I really can't beat on it.
