What would it take.............

to run an 8.0 or better with a 14b and stock shortblock??
I have 272's, ported head, smim with q45tb,(may not want to use this),and haltech. doing an auto swap and haven't decided what converter to get yet. I have bet with a buddy of mine that I can do it. I just want to do this to proove a point, I have a pt6765rh thats going to go on the car after this but just want to proove a point.


and no nitrous...................already tried to sneek that in,

thanks for any suggestions, and its a 92 awd tsi(6bolt with about 160 on the clock)

Here are the list of the only single digit cars and their turbos. Your best bet would be to see what they only 16g has done and follow that setup.

Stock 1g rods are only good for about 450 HP and the estimated horsepower for running an 8.99 at 3000 lbs is apparently 816HP. That's only an estimate however from here

I am assuming your talking about the 1/8 mile? You already went 11.3 which is about mid to low 7's in the 1/8. Maybe I along with everyone else are either really confused with this thread or are missing something?

8.0 in the 1/8mile is about a 12.6 or 12.7 in 1/4mile. That's pretty simple with a 14b and should require nothing more than the basics:
boost controller...set to 20-22psi or so
full exhaust
550's and fuel pump
hacked 1g maf or 2g maf
ECU chip or AFC
clutch that will hold (pretty much anything non stock)
a good driver who can run a bottom 1.7 to high 1.6 second 60'
racegas

Lmao, yes its in the 1/8th guys. 11.3 was ran in my fd ls1.

I am curious what auto guys have ran with basic mods. Car will be run SD with haltech so no need for maf hack.

Sorry about the confusion. I'm just looking for the minimum things to do. Looking for more of the auto experience folks.
