what does it take to play with wrx's?

you need more than boltons to keep up with a wrx...ive never seen a gsx with only flow mods trap 96 mph. stock GSXs trap in the 88ish range. a t25 gsx with only flow mods and boost doesnt really ahve a chance against WRXs. though a 14b with open exhaust and boost will do pretty well agaisnt one.

I have a 97 GSX with 3" catback, k&n, 15psi. My cousin walks me with a stock WRX from 3rd on. I have 100k and crankwalk, well not anymore since my motor is dead now :( Gonna try again after 2.4L hybrid is done.
4twenty

4twenty, you would stay with him if you upgraded your turbo. the T-2small just cant push the cfm to keep the fire lit when push comes to shove.

I would have to dissagree with this I belive the v8 camero is actuale best potential to cash car.

Does anyone have any idea how efficent the WRX driveline is, compared to a DSM? I'm running a 13.6@98. If a Rex can pull the same time and be 4MPH slower, it leads me to believe that the drivetrain or gearing is playing a large factor here.

Matt.

don't forget the stock wrx (non sti) has a weak trans.. only capable of 250lbs of torque safely. 2g awd dsm have a much stronger trans potential. just watch out for suckers getting jdm sti trans swaps in their wrx.... my 2c

Shut up with camero. it can suck my left nut. You will spend more money on insurance and gas and end up no supping anything up. Second off all people who own cameros usually don't go over exhaust, because they are too big of the rednecks to know how to work on the engine. Most of them don't even know how to change their oil LOL.

a camaro costing less per amount of HP gain than a supra? with the absolutely bulletrpoof 3L DOHC?

Are you speaking about the same engine that they just did a record breaking 982 RWHP (on an automatic no less) on stock internals?

not to mention the fact that a supra can not only drag, but corner?

I guess I will comment on this thread since I have experience with both. I own a 92 talon AWD with 393whp and a new 2004 WRX totally stock. I got pulled on by a couple cars the other night by a 95 talon. He was FWD and totally stock. If your FWD and 2g Id say you dont need anything from a 70+ roll.

PS... ABK your an idiot.

Kindof funny that this topic comes up...

I was on the way to work yesterday and a grew of "gangstas" in a pimped out Caprice (square model from the '80s) keeps pulling up next to me and easing off...like he wants me to punch it and race him or something. He just KEEPS doing it.

We get to the stoplight and I'm saying to myself.."Screw it..I'm going to run off from this guy and be done with it."

Light changes, I nail it and run off.

Apparently I hadn't paid attention to what was behind me...a white WRX. :D

He hung with me while I stayed in it...right up to the point that I let off (cops are terrible in the area) @ about 55.

He passed on the right, we honked and waved to each other, and he sped off.

I can only imagine what the gangstas were thinking. OMG

LT Quick, the best bang for the buck car on the street is a new cobra or new srt-4, do some research then respond with something worth typing

Nobody's pointed out the fact that wrx suspensions suck stock. Pick up any mag and they all point it out along with really weak trans. They're still powerful though with great potential.

man shut up with a the whole Camaro and Cobra bs. if you like them so much go drive on their outdated bodies, don't say that they are a better for the buck, as I said they can suck my left nut.

SRT4 ya, dreammachine for only 19,000 dollars. My opinion for cheapest/fastest is some old GM car (F-Body prefered) with a 400/500 ci engine.

There's a thread in this forum called "Fastest for Cheapest" or something vey similar. You guys should read it sometime.

I raced one in my GST the other day on the highway , 60mph roll .... from 60-90 he pulled on me .....after 100 i started pulling ( he had a loud ass BOV) .... I raced him with only a slight jump and got him by a car length to 120.... All I have is an exhaust on my GST .
