this afternoon before i left for school i checked my oil and it was tea colored, now it's coca cola black?? wth? the round trip from here to my school is about 130mi but that wouldn't be enough to contaminate the oil that much right?? o yea and i added a bottle of lucas oil stabalizer and lucas comple tune up injector cleaner before i left, could it be that it cleaned the injectors and all the contaminants mixed with the oil?? cause i'm lost i don't know what happened

no burning oil, but i don't know how to check if i'm running rich, i don't have an A/F gauge.

Oh you are non turbo? So I guess running rich isn't as much of an issue. If it was running rich, there would be some black smoke.

Why would you put Lucas in an engine with no known problems? THat stuff worked great an the 90 NT car with 212K miles and old worn rings, stopped it from burning oil! It also slowed the car down noticeably (thickens the oil, engine has to wrok harder to move/rev, ESPECIALLY in the winter!), it revved much faster/easier with straight 10W30. ONly use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in an old worn engine, or at least don't use more then half a quart max. It's mainly for old engines IMHO. Most people here will agree. You wouldn't run 20W50 in your car in the winter would ya? Then why thicken it up with that stuff?

How many miles on the car?

Do you have to add oil?

How long have you had the car?

Have you done a compression test?

Check your PCV valve. If you replace it, only use an OEM one, or at least test the new one before you put it on (Frams are crap, don't even bother).

Most engines with high miles will dirty oil up pretty quickly anyway though.

i put the lucas stabalizer on it because the egine has a really slow oil leak about 1/2 qrt a month, i haven't been able to find where's it's coming from so i added the lucas to stop the leak (which it did) i think it's coming from the head gasket but i can't tell for sure so i'm going to add the special oil dye and use a black light.

How many miles on the car?
108k, 800 since i replaced valves, timming belt and water pump, head gasket, etc.

Do you have to add oil?
because of the leak. (i know this because my ECU died on me and i had to wait a month to get a new one, in this time the car lost 1/2 qrt of oil without even turning over once, no ecu duh).

How long have you had the car?
5 months

Have you done a compression test?
not since the rebuild
