What would cause an ISC to be noisy?

90 gst I'm working on. The isc is clicking constantly, it tested fine. I swapped it with another known working ISC and it did the same thing. Pulled the ECU and it has no damage, swapped with another ECU just to be sure and it still does it.
Any ideas?

Yeah I know its normal to click when you first turn the key on. This is clicking constantly, never stops clicking.

It never stops. I swapped in a black top from my 2g and it does the same thing. Is there something within the harness that could cause this?

Pull the ecu and inspect it look for anything out of the ordinary, burn spots blown transistors, i would get a new one isc, and dont risk the damage to the ecu.

I guess I wasn't clear, regardless of the isc I put on the sound remains. If I put that same isc on another car it functions perfectly. Plus both ISCs I've switched ohm perfectly and have zero damage inside, no sense in buying a new one. The isc obviously isn't the problem here.
Both ECUs are in NEW condition, the ECU is not the problem.

Does anyone have experience with the same problem?
Would a narley boost leak cause the ISC to constantly try and adjust?

But, did you check the drivers on the ECU - it's those little long black things on the momboard.

Plus, wonder if the caps on the ECU momboard are bad even though they will not swell or leak and this has the possibility of the ISC relay to keep resetting...the clicking sound.

ECU really needs to be bench tested with test equipment and similar, not just a visual check since nothing moves "under the hood" of the ECU.

Not my first rodeo, I'm familiar with our ECUs. :thumb: ECUs are rebuilt units from ECMlink.

The battery terminal was lose, replaced it with a new one. No more clicking. Thanks
