Can anyone help me and tell me what version of link this is.. I picked this set up off a local guy with laptop and the ecu for 150$.. I know the ecu and everything works because he showed me before pulling..

You can download the software and drivers free from the ecmlink website. It is that you will be able to upgrade. You will have to talk to them though. v2 has more than enough options for most people. It's a lot more user friendly than v3 in my opinion.

I have my old 1g v2.5 disc that i dont use anymore. Not sure if it would work for you or not.

found the v2.5 software.. and downloaded the windows.. zip file and installer app? but when i run the installer up.. a screen pops up. does stuff for a minute then automatically closes.

Download the ecmlink software, it works for v2 and v3. It's got all the newest updates.

I got V2 DSMLink (v2.5.2.27) downloaded now..

I haven't hooked it up and such seeing as my motor is out of the car. But will one be able to control a boost silineod from ecmtunning with v2 or is that v3 only?

I'm wanting to set up boost by gear and run SD. Is this possible with both* I already have sd*ait and MAP 3 bar*

You need v3 to do the SD stuff.

Just use the Ecmlink v3 app for it See here install the full vertion then install the Early access - v3.24.70 after that.

You can upgrade from v1 or v2 HERE

v2 has more than enough options for most people. It's a lot more user friendly than v3 in my opinion.

I totally disagree Ecmlink V3 is on a completely different level then the old Dsmlink... You have DA access(true control of your maps) first and foremost among other things... .

If your looking for user friendly and either are too much then the user probably shouldn't be touching anything either way... .

This will be my first ecmlink set up.. I have downloaded the ecmlink v3 programm and followed there sets to configure it for v2.5..

But i guess for 150$ I shouldn't complain what I go. Also I'm mainly looking for link to tune my car. But I have to run SD and Boost by gear.

I"m gathering I need v3 full to do what i wish.
