What Transfer Case Do I Have?

Can anyboby tell me how to tell which tranfercase I have? By a serial # on the tranfercase. I was given this and a 6 motor but I have a 2nd gen, and wanna know if it'll work with my car, and also if its a 21 ,or a 23 spline tansfer case. I believe its from a 1st gen car. but I don't no what year.

Count the splines or call the dealership with the serial number.

If you have a six bolt engine and have your 2g tranny and the same year or compatible years (95-96) t/case it should hook up. But if u dont know the year t/case call dealer like the big man said.

Hey thanks guys, well I called mitsubishi and they told me that 89-90 are 22 spline, and 91 up till 95 are 23 spline and are the same part #, and will bolt right up. I'm not to sure about 96 and up most likely the same, but I didn't ask.
