ok so I wanted to replace the 17 year old gaskets and seals off of my transfer case (2g early 95). and I wanted to have on hand all seals and gaskets to prevent the risk of not finding gaskets or seals once the case is open, which this is where I tap out and ask for help. its not leaking, I just wanted to refresh it with new gaskets, o-rings and seals.
mitsubishi ASA calls for MF520414 "transfer case o-ring" and evidently it is no longer available. I have yet to pull apart the transfer case but does this means that no one will ever be able to rebuild a transfer case properly w/ new seals?
Is there a secret stash that I am missing out on? I might have to call sheptrans since they do rebuilds and I hope they have a good answer.
basically I stopped looking for the remaining parts because it seems that I'm going to do what I didnt want to, which is to go by the saying: if it aint broke... dont fix it.
EDIT: I emailed sheptrans and I am currently awaiting for a response
EDIT2: I found a possible source, I will order a full gasket/seal/oring rebuild kit (gathered by me) and see if I actually get all parts and not fall on a never ending back-order on it. I will post updates when I get them to verify availability.
