Can someone tell me what to torque the ARP MAIN (not head) studs to? I've searched all over but I can only find an answer for the 6 bolts. I have heard 65 ft/lbs. But again that was recommended for a 6 bolt, and the 7 bolts use the main girdle so I don't know if it would be different.

They need to be torqued to whatever the machinist torqued them to when the main bores were honed. If the mains weren't line honed with the arp studs, use stock bolts.

They were line honed with a torque plate by a machine shop ;). I found the manual for the arp studs and it says 60 ft/lbs, so thats what I went ahead and torqued them down to.

He is talking about when the journals where align honed. If you do not torque them to the specs your machinist did you run the risk of premature bearing wear and that is not fun at all. If you did not have the mains align honed then it would be a good idea too but there have been a few who did not do so and still made out but I have never seen anyone really take that chance to many times especially with a fresh built motor.

I think it's safe to say he did 60 ft/lbs because he had the arp box and manual there with him when he did the work. And it says 60 right on it.
