ARP main studs

i bought some ARP main studs and to me and the fellow dsmers in my area...they look like head bolts...where do they go???

ARP head and main studs are exactly that: studs. When I built my motor, the stock bolts were upgraded to ARP studs. If they don't say "ARP" on them, and they're bolts, chances are you got screwed.

well since your a 2g and you have a 7 bolt engine, your head studs are 11mm, you said the main studs are 10mm, OK 6 bolt heads are 12mm, so they have to be main studs then.
They go in your block, accessed by the oil pan, and hold the crank, and mains in place.

im puttin in a 6 bolt and i bought them thinking they were head studs bc theyre were 10 of them...they looked the same...and i didnt think there were 10 bolts that size anywehre else on the motor? i thought main studs were head bolts..thats why.

now youre starting to confuse me a little, you need to realize the difference between a stud and a bolt.

the main studs that you have go in these empty holes......

that right there answered my question...thanks alot..10 holes, 10 bolts. does this help strengthen up the bottom end alot? i have them already so i mid as well give them to the guy who is rebulding my motor.

sure. I don't hear alot of fus about them from other members and my engine builder said they definatly take a back seat to head studs. You could use them, post em on ebay, it doesn't really matter. Unless your making 600hp i wouldn't worry too much. the stockers have seen over 500hp.
