I was installing my ARP main studs today. I installed them in the block hand tight, put the main caps on then the main girdle. I torqued them down in three steps 30,60 then 80. as i was toqueing down the last two nuts the studs broke. I am using ARP assembly lube and a brand new torque wrench. Has anyone every ran into this problem?

My guess is that you broke them because you over-torqued them. They are only supposed to be torqued to 60ft/lb using ARP moly lube and 70ft/lb using 30wt. oil.

Sorry, bud, but you'll have to get a new set and try again. :coy:
