Newmarket,
ok so i have the car staying at home for next 7 months till sept. it's my daily driver, but for next 7 months, i don't need it. i am thinking what to do next, i have a few mods in mind, but mostly i just want to freshen it up, take off some parts, clean, fix, paint, whatever i need to. Next year i'll probably tear out the inside, and redo my interior, but right now I want to focus on the all the mechanical parts. i'll have about 20hours a week i can roughly spend , maybe more sometimes.
i have 200k KM on the car right now. I am new to cars, so i am not sure what my next tasks should be. I have done FIPK, brakes, short shifter and bushings myself, it was all easy, before that all i ever did was change oil, so just starting out. I am not sure what i can tackle and start off with next, but i have the car for 7 months and also about $1500-2000. I will do some mods (i am thinking boost controller, blow off valve(i just bought) exhaust, and all the gauges i need.) But i also want to just take off some parts, and make sure everything is working prorperly, clean them, get rid of rust, paint if i need to, bushings, etc. I am just not sure what I should start off with, and move on to next that will be appropriate to my skill level.
Thanks for the help.

i am all up to date on maintance. but i have plenty of time, and i should be able to do the most i can for the money i have within 1-2 months. what can i do for the rest of the time, i have time, grinder, paint, whatever, small supplies i got, i dunno what else to do with the time i have, i would tear out interior, and repaint, reupholster everything, but i'll do that next year. i dunno what to do for now. should i just start ripping apart anything underbody, and clean and paint everything make it looks nice, install bushings.. i dunno what else. i am going to have this car sitting in my garage for 7 months. any suggestions?

Well what do you want from your car we could tell you but its your car. Show, go, dd, street, track. You have so much time so much you can do.

Paint, the bay, remove excess stuff, clean up wiring, solder, heatshrink move stuff around. Get it the best you can, thats what i did when i did my turbo swap.

i dont have enough for a turbo upgrade yet, although i will get one. my budget for these 7 months for the car is 1500-2000. So with that i will get a boost controller, some gauges and exhaust done i am thinking, so that's it for the mods till next year, cus i want to save up and put in an 18g, fmic, bigger injectors, and get a tune all at once.
i would start with engine bay, but like i said i am fairly new to working on cars, and the only things i did, i mentioned in my previous post. i am just not sure what i should tackle next, and if pulling the engine, cleaning up everything, and then reinstalling it will be ok for my skill level. i was thinking to take off most and as much suspension stuff, and underbody as possible, as i do got some rust there, squeeking bushings and such, and just replace, clean, repaint everything, hopefully it wont be too hard, and i will learn more in the process, so next year i can tackle the turbo project, and clean up my engine bay. i dunno. what do you guys think? if pulling the engine and reinstalling it won't be too hard for my skilllevel, i may do that too.
i just don't want to jump at something that is way over my head and skilllevel, and then realize i have to take it to a mechanic, cus i can't get the job done, so i just want to move ahead progressively as i learn, and i have plenty of time and desire to learn. i want to rebuild this whole car, cus it's old, and i want to bring it to as new as possible, i won't be driving it a whole lot for the next 2 years, so i'll have plenty of time to work on it, just not sure where to start.
thanks for all the suggestions.
