What thrust bearing do i have?

Is there any way to tell if i have a split thrust bearing without opening the motor? Ive done my research and i haven't found anything difinitive. Ive read that if your car was built June 98 or later it would be equipped with the revised bearings. There have also been conflicting stories about only 99.5 models having split bearings. I have a 98 gsx.

That is the general consensus. By the way, the build date is for cars made after June of 97, not 98. Check your door for your build date.

Nov of 07? Well then you don't have a 4G63 engine in it.

If you meant November of 1997, then you have the revised split thrust bearings.
