What size tires for a 1g with 18" rims and a 1 1/2 drop?

Bought a set of 18"s yesterday and I need tires..I plan on lowering the GSX 1" to 1 1/2"s...I did some research but cant find a exact answer..Im thinking 215/35/40's..help
 
Forgot to mention they are 7 and a half inch width. How do i find what the backspacing is or the offset? Thanks joe
 
225 will give you a pretty flush look, 235 might fit, if you're not lowering the car at all, 215 might be optimal... But I had problems finding 215's that would fit my 17" wheels, so I just went with 225's... I think they look better than the 235's that were on there, and I feel better knowing theres an extra 10mm of space between the tires and suspension components.

225/40/18 is what you want... What is the offset of the rim?

the offset will be stamped or etched on the inside of the wheel somewhere... it should be either +40 or +45 which is pretty standard for that size wheel for a FWD offset wheel

i have ran the exact same rim offset and tire size on my car and depending on your drop and tires they may rub the rear fender but thats nothing a baseball bat wont fix

Yeah I figure I would have to roll the fenders..
 
Ya, I run 225/40/18's on mine, the rear tucks up nicely, the front isnt as low as the rear cause I got those cheap coilover conversion things on it (PO) and icouldnt get the spanner wrenches in there to tighten when they matched the rear so I had to get them as low as I could and still tighten them. It doesn't look bad though but if I did have to go lower,definently roll the fenders on the front.
