What size tires for a 1g with 18" rims and a 1 1/2 drop?

Bought a set of 18"s yesterday and I need tires..I plan on lowering the GSX 1" to 1 1/2"s...I did some research but cant find a exact answer..Im thinking 215/35/40's..help

Forgot to mention they are 7 and a half inch width. How do i find what the backspacing is or the offset? Thanks joe

225 will give you a pretty flush look, 235 might fit, if you're not lowering the car at all, 215 might be optimal... But I had problems finding 215's that would fit my 17" wheels, so I just went with 225's... I think they look better than the 235's that were on there, and I feel better knowing theres an extra 10mm of space between the tires and suspension components.

225/40/18 is what you want... What is the offset of the rim?

the offset will be stamped or etched on the inside of the wheel somewhere... it should be either +40 or +45 which is pretty standard for that size wheel for a FWD offset wheel

OK..225/40/18's THANKS! I think I found the offset too...found a 45 stamped on the back....I asked this in another post but what do you think my wheels are worth? I just bought them yesterday, 18"x 7.5 45mm offset Chrome Giovanna's...THANKS GUYS!!

i have ran the exact same rim offset and tire size on my car and depending on your drop and tires they may rub the rear fender but thats nothing a baseball bat wont fix

Well the issue is the top of the front struts.The top plate sticks out. But if you have coil overs.(expensive), it don't matter they will fit. But those rims look real good. Also Giovanna rims are high dollar rims but i can't find anything but 19s and new they run about 1600 dollars.http://www.custom-wheels-car-rims.com/Page.cfm

Ya, I run 225/40/18's on mine, the rear tucks up nicely, the front isnt as low as the rear cause I got those cheap coilover conversion things on it (PO) and icouldnt get the spanner wrenches in there to tighten when they matched the rear so I had to get them as low as I could and still tighten them. It doesn't look bad though but if I did have to go lower,definently roll the fenders on the front.
