Will 19's fit on a 1g fwd or should I get 18's? What is the offset needed for these? How wide? Tire size? The car is at stock height. Basicaly I want the biggest without interfering with anything. Thanks
Jason

19's will fit, you might get some rubbing. they do however look ####ign ridiculous. 18's are even big for a 1g the wheel wells really are not that big so a big rim is not needed to make them look big. 17's look rather large on a 1g. I would advise not going with somethign so big, especially on a fwd that is just asking for traction issues and blown trannies. However, it is your car and you should do what you like so you should run around a +40 degree offset. I wouldn't go wider than 225 on that big of a rim. With an 18" wheel you could sqeeze in a 235 on an 8" wide wheel with 19's I wouldn't go wider than 7.5 just to be on the safe side.

I have some Weld racing rims for the track so not, really woried about traction. These are strictly to drive on the street. Would 38mm offset be ok or did you mean atleast 40? I might go with 18's. Not shure yet? Would a 235 40 R 18 be a good size on a 18?

I don't see why +38 wouldn't fit, that was the offset of my 17's on my 1g and they fit fine. I want to say that is the stock offset. If not small spacers could fix the problem. As for what size tire to go with I have no experience with 18's on my car so tire size was never to important to me so I can't really help you there.

Go with the 18's. 19's are a little too big and they might give you clearence problems. Also, think about this: Tires are not cheap, but tires for 19's cost ALOT more than tires for 18's. Just my .02. :dsm:

I wouldnt say that they cost ALOT more for 19" tires, they do cost more, and your choice of good tires is basically nil.

It is about the same increase in tire pricing as from 17" to 18".

But 19's on a 2G look good! :thumb:
