I did some searching and couldn't find what I was looking for. I have 18" rims with 225/40/18 rubbers and I'm trying to figure out if I'll rub with a 2" drop. I did manage to find that my current set-up is only 1/10th of an inch closer to the fender than stock, but I have been told by a few people that they'll rub. My question is, does anyone have this or a comparable set-up that can give me an answer from personal experience?

I have the same size tires on my wheels and I notice that the rear tires DO rub on the rear fender lip. Usually it's only when hitting a bump kind of hard, or in hard cornering. I'm not sure what the offset is on my wheels.

I'm pretty sure I have the proper offset, honestly I don't know the exact offset.. Probably 40? So from what Derek says, I should be alright. I definitely don't plan on much hard cornering and I crawl over bumps/dips anyways just because I'm used to it already LOL

If it's any consolation, like I said before I have the same setup on my current DSM and I haven't bothered to trim the fenders.... yet. But, every time I do take a corner hard or hit a modest dip in the freeway, I cringe knowing that my fender is slicing into my rubber. I gaurantee that you'll rub, it's just a matter of how much and when. If it gets bad enough know that you can always fix it by triming the inner fender lip.

Oh, and just for the record, I know we've been talking tire sizes, but wheel width does come into effect. My wheels are 18X8.

Ok, yeah I'm 99% sure mine are 18x8 as well. Hmm.. I think I'll just put the springs on and see how bad it is. I only paid $50 for the set (I know I know, should have researched BEFORE buying) so if worse comes to worst, I'll just sell them to someone else with smaller tires :D Thanks for the advice guys, I'll dive into the install next weekend and let you know how it goes. Ohh I can't wait to see the stance when they're on..

I use a set of EVO 8 rolling stock on OEM EVO 8 size tires (car's lowered as well) and while the fronts don't rub at all, the rears would rub badly until RRE rolled the fenders for me.

Yeah I did notice that, looking down the side of my car, that the front fenders seem to go higher than the rears.. WTF How much might I be looking at for rolling fenders? I'm not too far from RRE myself :D

I'm not sure price wise, I was getting $3,000 worth of stuff done to my DSM and they just did it for me without knowing. When I got the car home I realized they rolled my fenders for me. :thumb:

ROFL @ Hideki, don't you love when stuff happens like that? Like finding a $20 in your pants after the wash.. And Derek, I'll have to check that out. I just get a little intimidated by body work to that extent haha

I run 235 40 18 on my car with tein s tech lowering spring and tokico shocks like the other guy said you cring every time you hit a bump if you don't mind that go for it me personaly I have a set of 225 45 17 rims and tires on the way I live in pensacola FL and they have been working on the interstate as long as I can remember so the road way's around here suck a$$ if you know what I mean

Trust me... when I get new wheels, I'm gonna go with 7.5" or 7" wide wheels, I LOVE the tucked look. I bought the current set a LOOONNG time ago and didn't put too much thought into the fact that they would stick out a bit.

LOL, yeah that's how the Riverside area is around me. Luckily I never go that way, maybe 3 times that I can remember. I should be alright for the time being, roads aren't too bad in my neighborhood :D
