Ive searched cant find answer, but I know its been answered. What size is the clutch, ive heard 2100, but then someone I really trust told me it was equivelent to a 2900lb clutch. I can get a good deal on an evo8 clutch with very low miles. Does this clutch fit the 6 bolt block? I would like opinions but links to sites with real facts would be appreciated thanks.

Also anyone know where to pick up evo maf or 3g maf?

I've seen an article on Evo 8 stock clutches and they went out real soon, so I doubt theyre 2100 or 2900.

The pressure plate doesn't exactly equate to size...

The evo 8 clutch is 240mm in diameter. I would take an educated guess that the pressure plate is less than 2100 lbs pressure. I doubt Mitsu would engineer a clutch/pressure plate that doubles the stock power output of the engine. This equals waste.

Yea because they are abused. My friend has an evo and the clutch is great, and so is the double synchroed tranny. Does anyone know what size it is?

Yeah, thats something that pisses me off about WRX, STi, EVO, and other car's owners... They think that they should be able to slip the clutch from 4K + rpm and have it and the trans withstand the abuse. those cars are RALLY inspired not " lets try to shockload the transmission is much as possible and then bi*** about how long it lasts" inspired.

Oh, and not all clutch/pps fit into a handy ACT like number. You can also add double synchros to your DSM trans.

Stock Evo is 2200#. You can go to any of the Evo forums and check it out.

Even better, I found a direct quote from the president of ACT:

I wish I could get people off the 2100, 2600, 2900 lb thing but old habits die hard I guess. The clamp loads vary a bit so we just advertise them as Heavy Duty, Xtreme, and Maxx Xtreme respectively. We never advertised them with the clamp loads but for some reason DSM people got hooked on the load ratings long ago. For the EVO we only have one pressure plate and it's a Heavy Duty which tests about 3000-3100 new and settle in about 100lbs lighter after it's broken in. For reference the stock pressure plate is about 2200-2250lbs (new).
