Ok I am looking into upgrading my fuel system but dont know what to do. I want a pretty decent hp gain. Want some tips, I am running an evo 16G, 2G MAS with a dejon pipe, 3" turbo back thermal r&d, .20 over pistons, Fidanza light wieght flywheel and 3.2 kevlar 4 puck clutch. I am thinking about sum 550cc injectors and a 255 pump with an safc. I would like some tips, anything would be great! :D

With all those mods running at full bore, you'll need a good bit more fuel. Do you have an EPROM ECU?
I would suggest going with at least 750's with the 255, but you'll likely need a bit more control over the AFR's than a SAFC. If you have an EPROM ECU you'll be able to get much better customization by chipping it. With a logger you can then make minor changes as needed and skip the SAFC altogether, depending on how involved you want to get.

Do you have any monitoring systems/logger? Right now you're probably running really lean (VERY BAD), and definitely need to get into a Wideband O2 sensor (and display if you don't have a logger).

Be sure to update your profile with each modification that you've done so we know where to go with this.

I Have no type of logger, and i know i need upgrades like now! I dont have alot of cash to play with here, spent it all trying to get this hog running LOL. What type of logger would be cheap but yet well worth it?

You can go as cheap as a palm 100 and make the cable yourself. I think I picked up my old palm for like 9.99 on ebay plus a few bucks for shipping. I am too lazy to make it, so I bought the cable as well. That will get you doing some basic logging.
But like he already said, DSM link is the way to go. I mean a SAFC is going to cost you... what $150-200, and you are already close to the point that you will want / need to upgrade past the SAFC to the DSMLink anyways. Just my thoughts...

For $100 you can get a logger and cable from a few sites. If you already have a PalmIII or similar, you can buy a cable.
If you're adept and looking for the cheapest route, check out this site and it will give you complete instructions http://mmcdlogger.sourceforge.net/
Or for already made stuff, you can try these sites:

The FIRST thing you need, though, is the Wideband O2 sensor so you can monitor your AFR's correctly. They can run from $150 to $350, depending on what you get. There are a couple of DIY sites for those too.

with a set of 660cc injectors and a 255 i was sitting pretty good with my china man 16g running 12.3 @ 111 spinning through 2nd. all tuned on an safc dependenig on your goals your setup wll vary

Oh yeah, almost forgot, you need to install your logging software onto the palm once you get it too. Thats pretty important. Anyways search around and you will find lots of different programs that are available (many free as well!) Also check out this thread about making the cable and logging.

with a wally 255 dont forget a fpr or you will over run the stock one. good luck

There isn't really a problem with the 1g running a 255 without an aftermarket FPR. I have been going for quite some time with mine and there are no problems. Of course, there is a different fuel flow with the upped pressure, but it really just makes it match what a 2g runs (higher base pressure). Of course, this does make a difference in tuning and without a proper tuning tool, you will be off by a good bit, running rich.

The 1g fpr's seem to have a slightly bigger outlet. I have had no problems with 255HP pumps on the stock fpr.

Get 750 or 850/880 injectors, and an EPROM ecu if yours is not. Then get a Burn1 chip burner from moates.net. EPROM tuning is actually easier than AFC tuning anyways. You don't even really need a wideband IMO.

So you are telling me that your cylinder walls arent washed down with fuel? How long have you been running it like that? I have a 6 bolt and have had mine this way for about a year. Its horrible the amount of excessive fuel I have because of it.

aside from washing down the cylinders with excess fuel there is no problem running the stock regulator with a 255lph pump....of course this causes premature ring and cylinder wear but other than that...:p

haha great minds think alike...but I guess your works faster than mine dsmmaniacLOL

Well my set up is similar to a lot of these guys... I am running the big 16G, FMIC, 550cc injectors, holley fuel rail, aeromotive v1000 fuel pump, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, SAFC, and a AVCR. Also have 8 gallon fuel cell all stainless braided lines from the tank. My problem is i want the DSMlink but need to sell some stuff so i can get some money. Want to buy an SAFC?

As previously stated, with tuning devices and proper setting, it's quite easy to compensate for any additional fuel pressure/overrun. If you notice on my list of mods I know exactly what my fuel consumption is (AEM UEGO Sensor (Wideband)), and I have made adjustments where necessary (Programmed bin files to chipped EPROM with a Moates Burn1 and TunerPro).

I originally decided to go with this because of this guy that worked up at a dealership in Grants Pass who had Talon was doing the same thing. He was getting 24 mpg and putting down some nice track times. Alex has since moved back up to Washington to hang out with his KaizenSpeed buddies.

K so i think i am gona save up and go with the DSM link, E prom and all, but i am not quite sure what all i will need to get in order to run this program correctly. Kinda new at this tuning/fuel thing so you will have to bare with me her, and i would greatly appreciate some help. I am not that smart when it comes to running new programs, is it difficult?

I cannot speak for the difficulty of running DSMLink, but as for the required supplies, try checking out their website. DSMLink Homepage

Required:
Socketed EPROM ECU
Depending on solution:
Emulator - ex: Ostrich
Chip Burner - ex: Burn1
Laptop - ex: DSMLink

You can either send an EPROM ECU that has not been "socketed" to them or some of the other places (Steve does great work). They will basically take off the existing chip and install a receptor so that you can either plug in another chip or a chip emulator, such as Moates's Ostrich.

If you go with DSMLink, they will make a chip that talks to a laptop through a provided diagnostic cable and allows it to read signals from the laptop and store that information. This allows for programming while the chip is in the car, unlike me, who has to swap chips regularly :( .
