what route to go with tuning

if you guys could, read my profile to see what i have. now my question is, what would be the best setup for tuning? i cant go overboard with cash here, so that already limits me, but i want something better than an SAFC II. i was thinking about the GM MAF/MAFT setup with an SAFC II previously, but i dont really know if that is all that great. should i just go with the AEM EMS and be done with it, eventhough its like $1600? thnaks

You DO NOT need EMS. I am not sure what the deal is lately but everyone seems to think if they don't like the AFC then have to go straight to the top with EMS. I would get DSMlink and call it a day. It is very easy to use and and has amazing support not only from users but from the creators.

The only problem you might face is trying to find a 90 EPROM ECU. They can be a bit hard to find and expensive.

Im just starting to learn really the ways of the SAFC and logger, and i was in your same place about a month ago. I didnt have the cash for link, so a used safc2 and logger do the job for now.

it looks like ill end up going with a SAFC II setup for now. in order to get dsmlink, i need to find a 90 eprom ecu, then buy dsmlink and have them socket it, then buy a lap top, then put it all in and take it to buschur to have it dynoed and tuned... way to $$$ for me right now. thanks for all of the help.

You don't need a laptop, you can run it from a PDA. I would try to take the time and learn how to tune it yourself. It's kind of pointless to buy a tuning aid and pay somebody else to do it. If you do then everytime you want to make a change to your tune you will have to go back to them and pay them more. Tuning with dsmlink is very easy. They have a user's forum to help people out with tuning problems.

Exactly. I am a tunning retard and DSMlink is easy to use.
