So I currently have a 95 talon. I'm getting a redjack manifold so u need to get a rad that the port is on the passenger side. I was looking into 1g or Honda rads. I've seek the long threads on it but wanted more updated pics and info. I'm going to be going for 600whp with my hx40 for a track and Dyno. I like extreme psi so I was looking into the mishimoto rads. I don't want to worry about overheating. So which rad would suit me best. A aluminum Honda rad thats small and don't take much room or a 1g mishimoto one? I also heard of afco sirrico or something like that. Which would you recommend with a good set of fans. I have limited room with my manifold. Is there a way to get 16an fittings on my tstat without welding? Like a dye set? Any input would be great. If you have pic and a install story would be great.

How about just a stock 1g radiator.. Cheap and simple and has been "proven" to not overheat with any amount of power. I know at least two people personally (1 at 511 awhp and 1 over 650 awhp on stock 1g rads). I too am getting a Redjack manifold for my hx35 and am going to just be running a stock 1g rad. I see no problems with it. Just run a couple slim fans instead of the stock fans. Just my .02

I would rather get some aftermarket one. I have to make it fit since it won't just "bolt in". I was thinking about performance half Honda rad but it's a hit and miss with them I think. What slim fans and rad you reccommend besides just a 1g?

I've been debating on what rad to get for my HX35 install as well, and I've been leaning towards the Scirocco. I like that I can tuck it a bit under the rad support (although not too far because it will hit the vertical brace where the hood latch is). I also like that it's a dual pass design, which I'm hoping would function a bit better for the road course.

Then I plan on just finding a single slim fan that's as thin as I can get and flows as much air as I can find.

The rad from jegs? I'm not going to cheap out on this stuff. Last thin I want is overheating. Do you have the link to the one your getting?

I see some people using Honda performance rads. Does anyone have personal experience with Honda rads or putting a 1g mishimoto in a 2g. I know the brackets are a bit different. I just done want to get a rad then have a problem fitting mani and fans.

So after more research, I have to decide between mishimoto race, afco, or the punishment racing with fans. What do you guys think. A few people said they didn't like the pr setup. I like the mishimoto because it's a full rad and be easier to install. But I'm a bit worried on room I'll have for my mani and tubi. If you guys can tell me what your using that would be great.

Not as easily, no. The 1g should just drop in, with the upper brackets just angled out a bit instead of straight back. I've been looking around to try and find someone who's installed the Afco unit while still keeping the hood latch/vertical bar, but can't seem to find anyone yet. You'll probably have to fab up some simple brackets from sheet metal, or if you want it nicer looking, have brackets welded on the body.

You should have enough room to run a Mishimoto rad with pusher fans (between FMIC and radiator). I doubt you could do it with pullers.

Here's the one I'm considering getting.

Is the main reason your picking that is because you can tuck it? I do like how it's smaller but not sure it would cool as good a a rad "made" for our cars. The punishment kit seems like a fair price but multiple people have had problems.

Also 16an is equal to 1. Which is 1 5/16 sae. What do you think about a die to put threads on my thermostat housing and rad? If they even make one. Or maybe tap it for a fitting off extremepsi.

The main reason of interest is the dual pass design of the Afco radiator. I'm building my car for road racing, so I think that this should help cool more effectively than a single pass radiator.

Ive read that the 1g rad also requires you to either make a bracket or fab the radiator itself to fit in a 2g. :idontknow:

I've read anything from just moving the radiator brackets from this - | | - to this - \ / - (hopefully that makes sense :p) to having to reweld the lower tabs in different locations.

Sounds like a good idea...leaves more $$ for other 'stuff'. Just make sure you take it to a rad shop and have it 'cleaned and pressure tested'. Cheap and proven!

i just bought this one and it looks great cause it tucks right under the support just had to remove the hood latch and get hood pins. im just waiting to sell my brand new 1g mishimoto radiator to buy the 12" fan for it.

Do you think Im going to have problems with the bottom mount for the 1g rad? Im not a welder.

So im getting the 1g mishimoto rad from fosforito. But ive been doing a bunch of looking around for pics of the bottom rad mounts. It would be nice to not having to pay a welder. If anyone has pics of 1g lower mounts vs 2g mounts that would be great. If anyone has any detailed pics of there swap that would help a lot. Im not worried about the top mounts just the bottom.

Saw the link. Seems like people have had different opinions. Seems like the best case is that it will work and the worst is welding like 99racer said. Looks like ill find out soon enough. Ill let everyone know how it goes.
